I did see the email finally, I have to say it doesn't break my heart. I do like vituals, and since they don't allow those any more I though these challenges would be a good option. I guess like they say it didn't work out.

I was sorry to see the Virtuals go. I understand that cheating and the reluctance to impose ALRs like photos caused their demise. I decided not to participate in Challenges. They were nothing but ALRs and subject to too much public opinion and that causes problems in itself. Virtual caches caused me a bit more work but they were some of the most interesting ones. Virtuals beat looking under a lamp post for a cache or getting a photo of some one eating a hamburger for a challenge and maintenance is not much of an issue.

You got that right JMCz about the fakers. I would have to imagine that the "CO" would have to screen the finds and coordinate the reports that they receive in reasonable time. After all, if they reported it found, how much longer would they need to send an email with a picture ??? Also, they did get me off the main roads to make a stop in some small towns.

I guess the deed is done. Logged on to Geocaching.com this morning and it's like they never existed.
