Dirt Road Adventure - North of the I-15

geo.meetup.com/121/calendar/12166682/

January 23, 2010

6:00 AM Optional meet for breakfast at the truck stop at GC1PB0T Got an Iron Stomach?

At 7:00 AM we will gather, get the basic plan to everyone, and be on the road by 7:15 AM. We will trek up the I-15 to the Carp - Elgin exit, then head north. Starting with the GCNNVD Paint Outside the Lines and GC1P6EC Where There Is A Well There Is A Way To It. heading up the road stopping at caches to the area of GC1KR09 Prickly Camo, and GC1KN8Y Low Road. Then head out to the state line (AZ, NV, UT)GC11D2 Nevada, Utah, and Arizona Tristate Cache. Hit the eight caches along the road to GC1KN90 Where's the Beef?, as the farthest point.

All planned runs are on a "Play it by ear" basis. Directions and cache stop choices based on factors to include, but not limited to, road conditions, weather, time, and group needs. Of course the caches mentioned above are not the only caches to be gotten on this run, but should help you look at the route. Or if you have a special request we will make an attempt to accomidate it.

Please pack a hearty lunch, and bring lots of water. Be prepaired for up to a 2 mile hike in desert conditions.
It would be super polite to give $2.00 - $5.00 gas money to your driver. It is not required, but again it is super polite to do so.

4x4 vehical recommended for this cache.
Before you RSVP please be sure that you have a spot in a vehical or will bedriving your own.
I have three available spot in my car! Please note in you RSVP if you plan to drive your own vehicle or you who you are riding with. Additionally please be sure you have a seat in a vehicle when you RSVP.

This is a fun run. Get your CB radios out.

If you have time, shoot up from Watts Going On to Derilect Dwelling (and 2 other caches). It's a neat spot of history and lots of petrified wood. From there shoot down a different road to E Dendras Detour.

Where's the 2 mile hike? (Narrowing the Arteries is a drive up - heh heh heh.)

Could a person RSVP and request a spot in a vehicle?

I would like to reserve a seat in the yellow jacket cachin' wagon. This sounds like fun! I am up for the adventure.

Well I suppose that you can RSVP and request a seat....many do. But there are no guarantees with that.

OK, so looks like we will have another weather/road condition issue with this run. Anyone have any suggestions on what we should do/replace this with?

How about finishing up Boulder City. Since the last run we did in Boulder City we cached south of the 93 I say we do the north side this time. We could meet up at the Railroad Pass.
